Photos will forgive Internet pirates

Amendments to the "anti -pirate" legislation will not protect the rights to photography.

This was announced at a closed meeting with copyright holders and representatives of the Internet business by the Vice Speaker of the State Duma Sergey Zheleznyak (United Russia), Izvestia writes.

The anti -pirate law was adopted in June by the State Duma and entered into force in August 2013. It is focused on the fight against the illegal spread of film and television products. Websites with counterfeit films and series are blocked on the complaints of copyright holders.

At the end of February 2014, Zheleznyak introduced a bill to the State Duma, which provides for the spread of the anti -pirate law on all types of content. In March, these amendments were adopted in the first reading.

By the second reading, a number of deputies plans to make significant changes to the bill. The press secretary of Sergei Zheleznyak confirmed that the amendments to the “anti-pirate” bill regarding the photo are being prepared, but could not report the details.
