© DPAOn Friday, April 11, at the Moscow Academic Musical Theater named after Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko (MAMT), the premiere of the opera Verdi Aida will be held in the production of German director Peter Stein.
Premiere shows will also be held on April 12, 14 and 16. According to the Mamt website , the scenographer Ferdinand Vegerbauer, the costume designer Nana Chekka, choreographer Lia Tsolaki, the artist in Joachim Bart, worked on the production. The music director of the premiere is the main conductor Mamt Felix Korobov.
Peter Stein repeatedly staged performances in Russia - at the Chekhov festival, his “Cherry Orchard”, “Three Sisters”, “Uncle Vanya” were shown, in addition, “Orestei” and “Hamlet” were delivered on the Russian stage (with Evgeny Mironov in the main role).
“Russian viewers know me as a dramatic director,” says Peter Stein ITAR-TASS . - But I work a lot in the musical theater. My opera productions took place in the Milan Skala, the Vienna State Opera, in the theaters of Zurich, Lyon, Barcelona and other cities. Now the turn has come to Moscow. ”
In Moscow, journalists asked Peter Stein the question whether he was going to refuse a trip to Russia because of the situation with the Crimea.
“Every time I come to Moscow, some sharp events take place,” the director answered. - I would not call my relationship with Russia fatal, but there is a certain mysticism in this. When in October 1993 I came to put Orestei, at the White House in Moscow there were tanks that shot parliament. Hamlet rehearsals, which began in August 1998, coincided with the catastrophic collapse of the ruble. Now there is a dramatic conflict with the Crimea. Of course, politics worries me, but this does not prevent me from doing my job. ”
