The revenue of Channel One last year increased only 1.6% and amounted to 29.6 billion rubles, while the cost of the channel increased by 7.3%, reaching 34.3 billion rubles.
According to the source on the First Channel, expenses grew mainly due to the launch of the HD channel, the Sochi Olympiad and the increase in the cost of content. The channel launched broadcasting in the HD format at the end of 2012, and last year a lot of funds were spent on creating the Channel One version with a high-clay-clay image to the beginning of games in Sochi.
