The 1st battalion of the National Guard demanded sending to Eastern Ukraine to fight pro-Russian militants. It is reported by TSN. On Thursday morning, the battalion, stationed in the training center in the village of New Petrovtsy, Kyiv region, arbitrarily lined up and put forward the corresponding ultimatum to the leadership.
The soldiers also noted that the theoretical preparation that they undergo does not meet modern requirements, and practical classes are insufficient - shooting pass only once every two days, and only six cartridges are issued to each guards.
To resolve the situation, the deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Nikolai Velichkovich arrived in the unit. He noted the "high motivation" of the soldier, "past three months on the Maidan," and promised that "they will be able to prove themselves."
The National Guard of Ukraine was formed on March 13 on the basis of internal troops. On March 16, volunteers began to recruit throughout the country to serve in the newly created structure. Citizens were massively recorded in the ranks of the National Guard. The training of soldiers in the new Petrovites personally inspected the acting President of the country Alexander Turchinov.
