Vladimir Putin told Pan Hi Mun on the phone, which Russia expects from the UN in connection with the Ukrainian crisis

UN Secretary General Pan Hi Moon and Russian President Vladimir Putin phoned on the evening of April 15 to discuss the situation in Ukraine. In the south-east of the non-mummy these days, an anti-terrorist operation is underway against pro-Russian-minded separatists, whom Kiev considers terrorists, perhaps there were no sacrifices.

As reported on the Kremlin’s website , Putin during this conversation told the UN Secretary General, what awaits the “clear condemnation” of Kiev’s decision from the organization and the entire world community to conduct a power operation, since, according to the Kremlin, these actions are anti -constitutional. In addition, the president’s press service emphasizes that the power operation initiated by the Kyiv authorities in the south-east of the country only exacerbated the situation in Ukraine.

Shortly before this conversation, the representative of Pan Hi Muna made the following statement, as Interfax reports: "The Secretary General is extremely concerned about the situation in eastern Ukraine. He called on the parties to do everything possible to defuse the situation and avoid further violence."

Meanwhile, not only Russia expresses its wishes for the situation in Ukraine. The ITAR-TASS source at the United Nations headquarters said that Lithuania offers tomorrow, April 16, to discuss the situation in the field of human rights in the east of Ukraine in the UN Security Council. Moreover, one of the speakers, according to Vilnius, should be the assistant to the UN Human Property Secretary General Ivan Shimonovich.

Apparently, the invitation of Shimonovich is due to the fact that the assistant Secretary General presented today a report in which he accused Moscow of promoting hatred and fraud with a referendum in Crimea, and also did not confirm the argument often repeated by official Russian persons, that the Russian -speaking population was oppressed in Crimea. At the same time, Shimonovich admitted: in the east of Ukraine, individual attacks on the ethnic Russian community took place, but they were neither systematic nor ubiquitous.

Judging by the report of Shimonovich, the UN is unlikely to agree with the opinion that the actions of Kyiv are destabilizing the situation in eastern Ukraine. The report of the Secretary General’s assistant reflects the point of view that in clashes and separatist offenses in the regions bordering in Russia, not local residents, but citizens of the Russian Federation may participate.
