Transnistria asks Putin to recognize independence

The Supreme Council of Transnistria unanimously accepted the appeal to Vladimir Putin with a request to recognize the independence of the region. "From the moment of the formation of the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic, a whole generation of citizens has grown up who realize themselves as Transnistrians and do not accept identity with the population of the Republic of Moldova, sharing the values ​​of the Russian world and striving to expand community with the Russian Federation," is also approved in circulation. Transnistria declared independence from Moldova in 1990. Today, the independence of the region is recognized only by three self -proclaimed states: Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Nagorno -Karabakh.
