Together against trolling
In the Fund for the Development of Civil Society (Forso) of Konstantin Kostin, a round table "electoral legal practice and legitimacy of elections" was held. At it, political scientists, lawyers and representatives of the parliamentary parties agreed on the creation of a public organization. According to Kostin’s plan, she should unite lawyers specializing in the electoral law, and in addition to save the elections from “legal trolling” and “carousels from claims, incomprehensible and dirty technologies”.
“The more legitimate the elections, the stronger the trust in the institutions, updated by the results of the elections, the stronger the power itself, the better for democracy,” said Alexander Sidyakin, a deputy from United Russia.

This, according to Kostin, actually sentenced the entire political system of a neighbor of Russia.
The new association can be created over the next months, and in the case of a successful combination of circumstances, activity will begin until the September single voting day. Its function, according to the experts gathered at a round table, will be monitoring the application of election legislation in parties. Also, a social structure, which so far has a clear name, will take up the “public arbitration” of elected disputes between candidates and parties. At the same time, party lawyers will not be part of the founders of the organization.

According to the participants in the round table, for the normal functioning of the future association, it is necessary to solve the personnel issue. This topic was raised by deputy Sidyakin and director of the Institute of Political Law and Management Alexei Vasiliev. They expressed fears that professionals, after the elections began to take place once a year, took up other legal areas. One of the reasons for this is a more stable income. At the same time, Vasiliev said that the probability that in the next elections in the State Duma there are not enough experts is quite high.
