The Security Service of Ukraine said that a group of armed separatists, who stopped the column of military equipment and disarmed the military, was led by Russian Igor Strelkov , an officer in the special forces of the General Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia. Earlier, his voice was identified onrecording conversations of Russian saboteurs intercepted by the SBU.
As stated in the statement on the SBU website , military personnel of the 25th separate airborne brigade of the Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which, incidentally, threatened to disband , blocked by Strelkov, which confirmed one of the troops of Ukraine. Most likely, this refers to the incident in Kramatorsk.
According to him, the removal of automatic weapons took place under the personal leadership of Strelkov. At the same time, the Russian officer bowed the Ukrainian military to go over to the side of the separatists, supposedly promising high salaries and other material benefits.
"The Russian saboteur, nicknamed chamomile, who was in the composition of the sniper group was in Kiev during mass protests, also demanded to abandon the fulfillment of military duty, who was present there," the message said.
"A citizen of the Russian Federation Igor Ivanovich Strelkov was put on the wanted list. Criminal proceedings were launched against him on the organization of intentional murder and performing actions to the detriment of sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, conducting sabotage and subsidiary activities, as well as organizing riots in the eastern regions of Ukraine," the SBU emphasized.
According to the service, Strelkov arrived in the territory of Crimea in early March and coordinated the seizure of administrative buildings and military units. He is also accused of recruiting citizens of Ukraine. Note that earlier the SBU published evidence of the Russian military presence in the eastern regions of Ukraine. Ukrainian law enforcement officers intercepted negotiations between the alleged representatives of the Russian Army, who coordinate the actions of the separatists. The security forces recognized Strelkov's voice, perhaps it was he who performed under the pseudonym of the shooter. By the way, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation did not take the record seriously, laughing at the "children's" terminology.
We add that the Security Service of Ukraine contains about 10 citizens of Russia, which are related to the special services of the Russian Federation. Earlier, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine emphasized that the aggravation of the situation in certain cities of the East and South of the country is inspired from the outside and caused by the subversive activities of Russia.
