The 74-year-old American robbed the bank and got into prison to get rid of loneliness

In the USA, on Thursday, a senior man who went to rob the bank was sentenced to return to prison. For a lonely pensioner, the dungeon became the home, which he missed in the wild, reports WRTV Indianapolis .

The harsh verdict of the American femid was happy with the 74-year-old Walter Unbekhan, who was convicted of robbery of the bank in the suburbs of Chicago (Illinois).

Unbekhan spent most of his adult life behind bars. After liberation from prison, he felt uncomfortable, lonely and suffered from boredom. Therefore, he decided to deliberately achieve his arrest and go back to jail.

Having examined the circumstances of the case and having learned the curious motive of the criminal, the judge satisfied his wish and sentenced to 3.5 years in prison.

This is a relatively mild punishment, since UNbekhan was threatened with 30 years of imprisonment, and the state prosecution required a 7-year term for him.

In fact, the judge became a lawyer who asked for a 3 -year prison for the client.

When pronouncing the verdict, the judge was faced with an unsolvable dilemma, since the robber in this case perceives the punishment as a reward, the correspondent.net reports.

On the other hand, the judge could not do otherwise and punish the criminal hated by him by freedom, since then UNbekhan could go to another and heavier crime.

This incident was mentioned by the prosecutor when he commented on the results of the trial.

However, Unbekhan considers the prison as a temporary refuge. On Thursday, he appeared in court, limping with a cane in his hands. When he was given his word, Walter told the judge that he made a mistake when he decided to rob the bank. “I don't want to die in prison,” the defendant added.

Recently, the forces have left Walter. Sometimes at the meeting of the robber was delivered in a wheelchair.

Meanwhile, lawyer Richard Maclis, who defended the convict, called this case "the saddest and most heartbreaking" in his practice. He also noted that Walter suffers from a slight degree of dementia.

We add that Walter UNbekhaun was once expelled from school, and then interrupted by random earnings, repairing plumbing. At 23, he first went to jail for transporting a stolen car. Then Walter had several more convictions for the robbery of the dwellings. Ironically, once UNbekhan was judged even for escape from prison, which now became the only house for him.

In 1970, Unbekhan abducted a 19-year-old girl. The victim was found related to the bed in the state of the state of Ohio, and the criminal himself managed to go beyond the state. For this, Walter was sentenced to 25 years in prison. The last term of the UNbekhan's conclusion, appointed for the robbery of the bank, expired in 2011.

Walter was married three times, but his last wife died. When, three years ago, UNbekhan went out of prison, his sister and her husband bought a lonely relative Trailer. There he spent the time in front of the TV or for drawing. Later, he compared such an existence with a prison life, and Walter described his house as a “hole”. These feelings of boredom and moved him to make a robbery.

“We tried to help him with all our might, but we did not succeed. This is a sad story,” the recidivist's sister Darlin Kellner summed up in South Carolina.
