Crimea will completely switch to ruble calculations within 2-3 weeks. It is reported by ITAR-TASS with reference to the press conference of the acting Heads of the Republic of Sergei Aksenov.
“The time of walking hryvnia must be reduced as much as possible. We are trying to get away from the hryvnia for two to three weeks, ”Aksenov said.
He also noted that in relation to those who will not take rubles in the Crimea, tough measures will be taken.
Aksenov said that today a little more than 100 branches of banks work in the region, while more than 800 had previously worked. This, according to the official, is not enough.
The day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to accelerate the pace of the transfer of Crimea to the ruble turnover.
Earlier, on April 12, 2014, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea Rustam Temirgaliev reported on his Facebook page that the period of parallel circulation of the ruble and hryvnias could be reduced in Crimea, but he did not name any deadlines from the hryvnia to the ruble.
Earlier it was assumed that the hryvnia will be used in Crimea along with the ruble until 2016.
