Promotion "Do not buy from the invaders" in the Kiev supermarket
"Russian kills": Ukrainian students convince the townsfolk not to buy goods from Russia
Young people fall in a store like struck by a bullet: their bodies block customers to shelves with Russian goods. Someone is scared, someone immediately guesses that this is the next action of the youth movement "Vidsich" ("Report"). At the time of Yanukovych, the “rebuff” became famous against the policy of the pro -Russian minister of education Dmitry Tabachnik and laws infringing on the rights of students. After the victory of the Maidan, the “rebuff” holds the flash mobs “Russian kills” in supermarkets and at gas stations. At the gas station, the girls from the "rebuff" rode toy cars that drove without Russian gasoline, blocking the way to real cars. On April 16, the clown with a gun " shot " visitors to one of the Kiev "McDonalds", urging them to abandon Russian tea and sauce.
A large store is an ideal platform for protest art. In supermarkets, the Russian Group "War" held its most famous actions "Memory of the Decembrists" and "Mop in the Popovskaya Row." For large flash mobs you need a good director. Activist of “rebuff” (there are no leaders and hierarchy in the movement) - professional theater director Katerina Chepur , who worked at the Ivan Franco Kiev Theater. In the time of Yanukovych, she was repeatedly detained for participating in political actions.
- It arose a year ago, when Russia first blocked our goods on the border. She stopped a little when the Maidan began. After the commissioning of Russian troops, a new breath appeared into the Crimea, and the idea became very popular.
- Do you address your call to store owners?
- No, not to the owners, but to customers. We urge them not to buy Russian goods. And the owners are already looking at what it is beneficial to sell and what is not.
- You go to the floor in supermarkets ...
- Yes, we are falling in supermarkets at the same time. This is what a flash mob is called: "Russian kills." In this way, we demonstrate to customers and owners that, buying Russian goods, we finance a bullet that can kill us.
- And how do customers react?
- Differently. Mostly positive. Even in the east: we held an action in Nikolaev. There are people who react poorly. Some do not understand. But, mostly there are no problems with this, because other visitors begin to enter into a discussion with them and tell them all. We sometimes have problems with security, although it cannot present us anything: we do not violate anything.
- After all, at the gas stations do you also hold stocks so that Russian gasoline does not buy?
- Yes. At first we had the same flash mobs as in supermarkets. The last time we blocked the entrance to the TNC refueling. We are gradually trying to go to an increasing and more list of Russian services and goods. It's just that we are not so much to do everything right away. We start with stores, we will end with travel agencies, probably.
- How did the motorists react?
- Most were signaling and very welcomed. Only two were against it. We wanted to call, but we did not let them in.
- Has it lasted for a long time?
- From 8 to 9 in the morning, an hour of peak, when everyone goes to work. We will often make such promotions at different gas stations.

- Do your organization mainly consist of schoolchildren and students?
- Mostly students, there are fewer schoolchildren. We have no age restrictions, but it just turns out that the method of activity attracts more young people. We exist for 4 years. They were created after Yanukovych won the elections in Ukraine. And when the Maidan began, they entered the Self -Defense of the Maidan, only under the slogan of non -violence. We do not support violent methods of struggle. We conduct this campaign because it is one of the ways for a person, without substituting our life under the blow, somehow express your protest.
- Are you afraid that the Russian intervention will begin? Feel that it's close?
- Certainly. We have activists in Donetsk, my brother lives in Slavyansk. Every day we communicate with them and know what is happening there, that people are killing. What happened on the Maidan was very much influenced by the Kremlin and Putin. We understand that their plan is developed with different options - Putin is not a prophet, but he is gradually trying to realize him. Of course, this is scary. Unfortunately, in addition to the seizure of territories, they substitute our people, expose with live shields. Many there do not understand what is happening, that this is a war. There have been a full -scale propaganda among the population for years. Of course, our power, of course, did not conduct antipaganda, because it was in conjunction with Putin. As a result, people think that they will live better in Russia. When you start asking what exactly, how, there is no answer. Shakhters understand that mines in the Donbass of Russia are not needed. If Donetsk becomes Russian, then they will have less work and less earnings. And others live poorly, and it seems to them that if you change something, it will be much better. We will tell you that this is not so.
