Tip to the journalist

On April 18, before the start of the plenary session in the State Duma, LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky publicly insulted several correspondents, including a pregnant journalist from the Rossiya Segodnya agency and a colleague from Interfax who stood up for her.

“Pregnant women should not stand here! There are no pregnant women here! If pregnant - go home! Take better care of your child! We are healthy enough! What are you doing, you lesbian! Why are you climbing to protect her! .. I'm not being rude! Get out of here!” Zhirinovsky shouted in front of the cameras. The trick of the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party caused on-duty indignation. Even those who resented “How dare he!” and asked “How long can you endure this?”, “Why not boycott him all over the Russian press?”, they perfectly understand that they will have to endure him for quite a long time - about the same time as we will endure the president, who humiliated his ex-wife all over the country , stating that "will give her in marriage." Zhirinovsky is not the first time rude to a woman, it happened that he raised his hand to the ladies. However, he is still a welcome guest on TV shows, because rudeness and vulgarity always have a place on Russian television, in contrast to alternative points of view on political events in the country and the world.

“It’s not fashionable to love our homeland now,” journalist Andrey Norkin complained during Vladimir Putin’s direct line with the people, to which he remarked, not without pleasure: “It’s probably not fashionable somewhere in your environment,” and Norkin agreed: “ That is why I referred to my journalistic experience.” That is, the journalist Norkin complains to President Putin that in journalistic circles, among his colleagues, it turns out that they do not like their homeland.

However, the problem is not that we lack journalistic solidarity, the problem is that fewer and fewer people working in the media can be called journalists. Unfortunately, things are happening today much worse than the fear of journalists to stand up for a colleague who is being insulted, or the desire to snitch on fellow heads of state. So, recently, on the air of the state television channel Rossiya 24, a close-up of a poster on one of the separatist barricades "Attention, provocateur!" with a photo and the name of the journalist Arkady Babchenko, who is working in Eastern Ukraine on behalf of The New Times. And in order to have no doubts that this poster did not get into the frame by chance, the picture was repeated several times. We have lived to see the days of not just denunciations of some colleagues on others, but direct pickups on them in the combat zone. This is exactly the case when, having reached the bottom, we hear how they knock from below.
