The founder and general director of VKontakte wrote a departure statement on March 21, on April 1, he announced this on his page, but on April 3, he said that it was an Armelian joke. However, Sergeev said, Durov did not withdraw his statement, so the company's management was forced to dismiss him after 30 days.
In a slightly different circumstances of his dismissal, Pavel Durov himself describes in the message on his VKontakte page: “The review of my application for resigning from the post of general director on April 3 (which they had previously accepted before), was formalized“ not by all the rules ”.”
In addition, as the reason for today's decision, the founder of VKontakte mentions that last week he publicly refused at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office to close the Rospil - Corruption -Alexey Navalny group, and also posted on the Internet scans of the FSB requests demanding to reveal the data of the creators of the Euromaidan groups.
