
Today, April 22, the All -Russian competition for the best literary work for children and youth "Booker" begins to receive work.
“Book” is the only competition in the world whose winners are determined by the open jury formed from readers from 10 to 16 years. The website of the competition is not just the first publicly entertaining legal free library, but also the place of open discussion of the text and direct communication of the reader with each other and with the authors of the works.
Manuscripts and books published no earlier on January 1, 2010, created in Russian and addressed to readers 10-16 years, are accepted for consideration. The author of works, book publishers, media, creative unions, libraries, educational and educational institutions have the right to nominate works. All works are accepted exclusively in electronic form at kniguru@bigbook.ru until June 30, 2014.
The purpose of the competition is to search for new names and works in the field of literature for a teenager, support for young and talented authors. The competition also acts as an independent expert platform that provides a reading teenager with the best modern works that have undergone highly qualified selection. The competition warms up the interest in reading among adolescents, and every year more and more readers are attracted.
The laureates of the competition were already Andrei Zhevalevsky and Evgenia Pasternak, Eduard Verkin, Irina Lukyanova, Svetlana Lavrova, Igor Zhukov, Vladimir Berezin, Aya Kosteeva and many others.
The prize fund of the Booker contest is 1 million rubles. In August, a “long list” will be announced, and in September - a list of finalists. The results of the competition will be summed up in November 2014.
