A single reader ticket will give access to all libraries of Russia

The key project of the Year of Culture in Russia will be the creation of a national electronic library. According to the Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky, "each owner of a single reader ticket will be able to use the libraries of Russia."

He announced this at a meeting of the organizing committee for the year of culture, reports ITAR-TASS . Medinsky explained that thanks to the new project, readers "will gain access to the entire legal digitized content of the country." The minister expressed the hope that the project would be launched by December of this year.

In addition, he spoke about the development ofthe concept of the foundations of state cultural policy and the introduction of public-private partnership in all areas of culture.

Medinsky listed all the main events of the year of culture, especially highlighting the opening of the branch of the Moscow Philharmonic, on the programs of which "about 80% of tickets have already been sold." Also, about 15 branches of the Philharmonic will be opened throughout Russia and more than a hundred Philharmonic concerts will be organized.

The minister also said that the new building will receive Soyuzmultfilm, many Russian film studios will be reinvented, new cultural objects are opened, and salaries of cultural figures are increased.
