Alexander Lukashenko promised to strictly destroy “in the bud” of any call to the coup and turmoil or propaganda of violence, suppress radicalism and prevent provocation and clashes. Lukashenko said that he knows about the existence of those who do not support the current government and is critical of it. He noted that there are few of them, but he accepts “any opposition that acts in the framework of the law”, and is attentive to any criticism if it is “dictated by sincere pain for the country”, and not “external order”.

“I am deeply convinced: in society there should be tolerance for the variety of views, discussions and criticism. And at the same time - the absolute rejection of violence, hatred and revolutions,” the Belarusian leader said. The authorities, according to him, are ready for the “guided, gradual and dictated by the life of evolution,” but rejects the revolution and destruction to the ground.

Earlier, commenting on the actual change of power in Ukraine, Lukashenko said that in Belarus there are no “fundamental” and “conceptual reasons” for such revolutions, and in Minsk there is no place for the Maidan. ” He said that the leadership of Belarus is not afraid of anything like that, but "the leader who is not trying to learn lessons from some events would be stupid." He repeatedly said that the main causes of events in Ukraine consider the collapse of the economy and corruption, which led to the collapse of power.

On April 22, the President of Belarus again remembered Ukraine in connection with this: "The Ukrainian crisis is a warning to everyone." According to him, everyone must draw conclusions from this situation. In Belarus, he said, the fight against corruption is systematically and harshly, officials have no yachts, palaces, limousines, and most honest and decent people are in power.
