Matvienko will complain to Sobyanin on Kapkov, "who has lost a sense of proportion"

The Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko intends to complain to the mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin at the head of the Department of Culture of the capital Sergei Kapkov, who refused Ilya Glazunov in the request to arrange an exhibition of regional artists, Interfax reports.

"I will talk with Sergey Semenovich and write him a letter about the outrageous behavior of the Minister of Culture of Moscow Sergei Kapkov. Kapkov lost a sense of proportion," Matvienko said at a meeting of the Organizing Committee for the Culture in Russia on Tuesday.

The reason for the appeal of the speaker of the Federation Council to the metropolitan mayor was the complaint of the artist Ilya Glazunov at a meeting of the organizing committee on Kapkov. “We asked Kapkov to arrange an exhibition of young realists in the Moscow arena - he refused us,” Glazunov noted in his speech.

Valentina Matvienko emphasized that Sergei Kapkov had no right to refuse young artists in the exhibition. “To refuse young artists in the exhibition is absurd. This is not his patrimony. We will demand to arrange this exhibition,” Matvienko concluded.
