Matvey Ganapolsky
Russian look
An application for the need to disarm illegal formations in Ukraine, voiced by Sergei Lavrov, did not work on protesters in the east of the country. Meanwhile, the press secretary of Vladimir Putin Dmitry Peskov confirmed that the Russian troops are really on the border with Ukraine, Yulia Tymoshenko announced his intention to hold a round table in Donetsk, and it also became known that Viktor Yanukovych could return to Ukraine. We asked for a famous Russian journalist, a native of Lviv, Matvey Ganapolsky, to help understand the latest events around a neighboring country.
- Matvey Yuryevich, despite the statement of Sergei Lavrov that all illegal armed formations in Ukraine should be disarmed, and administrative buildings were returned to the authorities, their weapons protesting in the east were not put up. Why was this statement made?
- I remind you that such a statement was made not only by Sergey Lavrov, but also by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Everything coincides here. The illegal armed groups that Russia believes such - the Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov calls them in the same way. And the fact that gangster groups say the refusal to lay down weapons means that only law enforcement agencies should be armed.
- It is not entirely clear ...
- The fact is that we were not shown the point of view of Ukrainians who consider the illegal armed forces of those people who capture local councils. Russia, however, says that illegal armed groups are the “right sector”. But Ukrainians also believe that the “right sector”, which has weapons, must add it.
- In other words, Russia believes that the protesters, for example, should not lay down weapons in Lugansk?
- Yes, Russia does not believe that they should lay down weapons, and the Ukrainian authorities believe that they should. However, it turns out that the position of the Russian Federation and our neighbor coincides in its essence that all illegal armed groups must lay down weapons. And they will all lay out a weapon. As you know, Ukraine disarms the Right Sector. In the same way, the guys from Lugansk, Odessa and other cities should not have weapons. As a result, everyone will be disarmed.
- Dmitry Peskov said that Russian troops are present on the border with Ukraine, but they have no influence on events in the country. Why do you think our troops are on the border?
- to carry out pressure from the so -called "Putin soft power." Why do you need troops if you do not exert pressure? They are there for this and to destabilize the situation. There is no other reason. Only virtual pressure on the country.
- How long will they stand there and exert this pressure?
- This is difficult to say, because only one person knows the answer - Vladimir Putin. Decisions on foreign policy are made by the President under the Constitution and the President in fact. Not a single person knows what order Putin will give tomorrow. Unfortunately, our legislators, in particular, members of the Federation Council, who should confirm or cancel the president’s decisions, support or not support, is just a dumb voting machine. Therefore, what Vladimir Putin will decide, it will be tomorrow.
There is no need to listen to any experts, since neither political scientists, nor sociologists, nor journalists, nor Putin’s closest environment know what he will decide to do tomorrow. This is the specifics of Russian politics. Therefore, all that we come up with is exclusively a design, and we can speak with confidence only about what was and takes place in the past tense.
- Yulia Tymoshenko wants to hold the All -Ukrainian "Round table" in Donetsk. How can such a solution react to Ukraine in Ukraine?
- Today in Ukraine, the first place in popularity among politicians is not Yulia Tymoshenko, but by Petro Poroshenko. But despite the fact that she had already slightly lost political influence due to various circumstances, Tymoshenko is still a rather influential person. Therefore, if she offers something, I am sure that this will be considered.
But there is a second factor called the benefits of this “round table”. It seems to me that there are certainly positive moments from the organization of such an event. In general, any “round table” or negotiations is better than inflated politicians who sit on different sides and scold each other.
So I do not see anything bad in her sentence. Moreover, she proposes to conduct this, for example, not in Lviv, where there is only one political position, but in the rebellious regions, in eastern Ukraine. Purely formally this can be treated only with great hot support.
- There was information that Viktor Yanukovych was in Sochi all this time, and now he was going to come to Donetsk. How do you assess the probability of Yanukovych’s return to Ukraine?
- First: it does not matter where Viktor Yanukovych was all this time, since the president should not hide. Absolutely correctly his behavior was appreciated by Vladimir Putin, who gently condemned this flight. Let's not forget that Yanukovych ran away - well, what is he after that the president? He was in the territory of another state, where he was hiding and only periodically appeared on the cells to say that he was the supreme commander. As for me, it would be better to be ashamed.
Second. We held a funny vote. There is a Ukrainian word "rushnik" - this is an embroidered towel. They usually put bread-salt on him, meeting a person and saying “Welcome!”. And there is another Ukrainian word, “Rushnitsa” is a gun. We asked the Ukrainian audience a question: what will you meet Viktor Yanukovych if he appears in Ukraine - a towel or a towel? About 85 percent said that the towel.
- Why then can Yanukovych return to Ukraine?
- There is such a goal - to mystify. So he tells. Maybe he is crazy. In any case, Viktor Yanukovych is turned off from reality and does not understand that everyone despises him - and supporters of the Party of Regions that he threw, and even more so those people who did not accept him as a political leader. He can call himself as he likes, but his political career ended.
