The first festival of spiritual and moral cinema for youth opens in Kronstadt

On Wednesday, the opening ceremony of the first festival of spiritual and moral cinema for children and youth will be held in St. Petersburg.

According to the press service of the Kronstadt district, the festival will be devoted to the 25th anniversary of the canonization of the Holy Righteous John of Kronstadt. The film forum will be held from April 23 to 25. In addition to the competitive program, all participants and spectators are waiting for creative meetings, round tables, as well as an exhibition dedicated to the saint, the Interfax-religion portal reports.

Before the opening of the festival in the Kronstadt Sea Cathedral, a prayer service will be held.

On April 24, the competition program of the film festival will begin with the show of 12 animated short films. On this day, spectators will also be able to see documentaries and evaluate a gaming short movie shot by the festival participants.

After the end of the first day of the competitive program, everyone will be able to take part in the creative evening with the head of the Russian Orthodox Theater under the Alexander Nevsky Lavra Andrei Grontovsky.

The closing ceremony of the film festival and the awarding of winners and laureates will be held on April 25.
