The United States will host the Scientific and Theological Conference dedicated to the Second Vatican Council

At the Catholic University of Notre Dame (city of Sout, Indiana), a four-day international scientific and monitoring conference dedicated to the history and documents adopted in the second Vatican Cathedral -the last large Catholic Church, held in the Vatican from 1962 to 1965, opens.

The forum is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the end of the cathedral. The conference participants are associates, theologians, church historians, religious scholars representing Catholic diotses and universities in the United States, Great Britain, Canada, India, Chile, Portugal, Angola, reports the Blagovers-Info agency with reference to the information of the Sedmitsa.Ru portal.

The main goal of the conference will, according to the organizers, discuss and summarize some of the results of many years of research of various aspects of the process of implementing the decisions of the cathedral in theology and everyday life and the practice of the Catholic Church. At the plenary meeting, program performances of a number of leading American and British specialists on the problems of modern Catholicism and the ecumenical movement will be made.

The work of the forum will take place in several sections: “Women's Mirian Congregations in Europe and Canada”, “Pilgrimage to the Holy Land, Liturgical Dances”, “Church and Control over birth rate in the UK”, “Papa John XXIII and the second Vatican Council: Memories”.

In particular, the following very original ones in the content of the message will be offered to the attention of the participants:

-a pilgrimage to the Holy Land and the growth of the "para-Part" activity since the time of the second Vatican Cathedral

-the introduction of liturgical dances in the parishes of New York after the second Vatican Cathedral;

-the functioning of an oral historical and church legend in Catholic debates on the issue of controlling the birth rate (attracting sexual experience of women catholics in the 60s in Britain)

- Cathedral, rudiments of Portuguese colonialism and the problems of the Archbishop of Luanda (Angola)

-Church dialogue with the world: the reception of the pastoral constitution "Joy and hope in the dioceses of India in 1970-1985." and others.

Most of the reports will be devoted to various aspects of reforming church life over the past half a century in the dioceses of the Catholic Church, primarily American, Canadian and some South American, characterized by the greatest commitment to the liberal trends of the Second Vatican Cathedral.
