Servers of large Russian Internet companies need to be placed in Russia. This was stated by President Vladimir Putin on the ONF media forum in St. Petersburg, Interfax reports. The head of state noted that now the information passes through "American servers", where "everything is controlled."
“Such a life, so it is built by the Americans, they did this. You know, all this arose at the first stage, at the dawn of the Internet, as a special project of the CIA of the United States. But still, this is originally a military program, a special program, and sits in the center, this part of the special services,” the president explained.
According to the president, the transfer of servers to Russia will protect the data of Russians. Earlier, he noted, Russian companies did not have the opportunity for such investments, but now they are appearing. Now Russian Internet companies are activating their work precisely in Russia, Putin emphasized.
“Yandex”, “VKontakte” and search engines are trying to develop “iron”, mathematical support and informational. This process has begun. I hope that it will develop quite intensively, quickly and will provide our interests, ”the president said.
At the same time, Putin said that with Yandex the company is not so simple. " "When they were just starting work, they also succumbed: they should have so many Americans, so many Europeans in the governing bodies. And they had to agree with this. Part of their registration also happens abroad, and not only for the purpose of taxation, but also for other considerations. The Americans try to keep their monopoly. As they say, a monopoly is bad, if this is good - if it is their own monopoly. This is impossible in the modern world, but it is impossible in the modern world. We need to purposefully fight for our interests.
Putin also considers the equivalent of popular bloggers to the media reasonable. "I do not want to give assessments so as not to engage in a point of view. But if a particular person has an influence on thousands, on tens of thousands of people, then, in principle, in fact, this blog is not much different from the media," he said. At the same time, the president called for adopting the relevant law without bends.
On the eve of the founder of Mail.ru Group, Dmitry Grishin said that the excessive regulation of the Internet on which the state insists in the "anti -terrorist package" of bills can lead to serious problems in the industry . In recent years, Russia has become one of the few countries in the world where local Internet projects occupy leading places in e-mail, social networks, games, search, Grishin noted. He explained this by the fact that Internet companies were not under tough regulation for a long time.
However, the industry may die if Internet companies will have to coordinate their developments with state bodies, Grishin emphasized.
On Tuesday, the State Duma in the third reading adopted a law obliging bloggers with a daily audience of more than three thousand users to comply with a number of requirements for the media. The law also introduces the concept of "the organizer of the dissemination of information on the Internet." They will be obliged for six months to store and provide in Roskomnadzor data on the facts of receiving, transmitting, delivery and processing of vocational, written text, images, sounds or other electronic messages.
The organizers of the dissemination of information should also ensure compliance with the requirements for equipment and software and hardware, which are provided for the implementation of operational-search activities and measures to ensure security by competent state bodies.
