Doctors in Severomorsk declared a hunger strike

Three employees of the North Sea Central District Hospital announced an indefinite hunger strike, according to the Murmansk agency BB-port. They achieve salaries.

“We continue to work. Now three people are participating in a hunger strike, we asked not to take part in it for health reasons. Tomorrow an ophthalmologist will join us,” the clinic employee Galina Kovalchuk told the publication.

The salary of an ophthalmologist in Severomorsk is only 20,306 rubles, and the nurse of the neurologist receives 17,412 rubles. At the same time, according to the regional Rosstat, the average salary of doctors of the Murmansk region in 2013 amounted to 59,102 rubles, the average medical personnel - 33,132 rubles, the youngest - 20,556 rubles.

The wage system in the North Sea Central District Hospital is checked by a commission organized by the Ministry of Health of the region. “Based on the results of the audit, conclusions will be drawn. If violations are discovered, the perpetrators will be punished,” said Deputy Governor Tatyana Poronova. “The commission organized by the Ministry of Health of the Murmansk Region is now working in the hospital. The inspectors will check the distribution of stimulating allowances and everything related to tariff formation in the hospital.”

On April 19, a picket was held in Severomorsk, which reached about 30 employees of the Central District Hospital, dissatisfied with wages and the situation in the medical institution.

The plans to conduct a strike on the ambulance warned the leadership of the station management in advance. Doctors demanded the payment of all "stimulating", the abolition of fines and an immediate increase in the basic part of the salary by 29 percent. These issues are entirely in the competence of the republican authorities, and therefore can be resolved without any delay.

Three participants in the strike - activists of the Framion Trade Union Tatyana Mazaeva, Olga Baryshnikova and Natalya Rybolovleva - on April 18-21, 2013 held a hunger strike in order to force regional authorities for dialogue.

On April 21, the head of the Ministry of Health Veronika Skvortsova demanded that the head of Udmurtia Alexander Volkov bring the regional Minister of Health to disciplinary liability. The basis for this, she called violations in the system of accounting and remuneration of Izhevsk doctors identified by the Federal Ministry. Skvortsova also ordered the regional department to eliminate these violations within five days, and until May 1, to fully pay the doctors withheld money.
