
The ex-deputy of the State Duma from the LDPR Mikhail Glushchenko admitted his complicity in organizing the murder of Galina Starovoitova. According to Fontanka.ru, citing Alexander Afanasyev, the lawyer of the accused, Glushchenko made such a statement on Thursday at a many -hour interrogation with the investigator of the FSB in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region Alexander Nikitin. In addition, the lawyer added, the former deputy gave detailed testimonies about the organization of the murder and called the second accomplice of the crime.
The name of the accomplice Afanasyev categorically refused, referring to the secret of the investigation. To the clarifying question whether the former deputy of the State Duma and the business partner of the accused Vyacheslav Shevchenko is in mind, the lawyer replied: "No, this is another person." Afanasyev also noted that the accomplice was not previously convicted in this case and did not appear in his materials at all.
April 24 can be considered the day of the final disclosure of the murder of Starovoitova, the lawyer added. The testimony, the data of Glushchenko, significantly change the picture of the preparation of the crime that had the investigation. In the near future, Afanasyev believes, his client will be charged with the new edition.
Glushchenko initiated the initial prosecution on November 8, 2013 . As stated in the document, in the summer of 1998, for some reason, which were not explained in the document, decided to kill Starovoitov, after which he entered into a conspiracy with an unidentified person who helped him go to Yuri Kolchin, a direct killer.
Now, as Afanasyev expects, the details of the case should become much more clear. First of all, the lawyer explained, the investigation will have to establish the motives of Glushchenko. If this does not happen, the case cannot be considered truly disclosed.
Now Glushchenko and Afanasyev will seek a transaction with the investigation. It will allow the former deputy to count on a tangible mitigation of punishment.
In addition, the statute of limitations in the case of the murder of Starovoitova has already expired. This, as the publication suggests, gives Glushchenko and his lawyer the reason to expect that the accused will generally avoid a real term.
In mid -April, Kommersant wrote that Glushchenko suggested that the investigation testify about involvement in the murder of the Starovoytova St. Petersburg criminal authority of Vladimir Barsukov (Kumarina). Afanasyev, however, refused comments. “The very fact is that Mikhail Glushchenko intends to conclude a pre -trial agreement on cooperation with the investigating authorities, I confirm,” he said. “On what basis, I can’t say yet: this is the topic is responsible.”
Now Barsukova is judged in Moscow for organizing a criminal community, raider seizures, extortion, legalization of criminal proceeds and the organization of murders.
Glushchenko is serving an eight -year term in a maximum security colony for extortion. He was charged with the murder of Starovoitova under articles 33, 277 of the Criminal Code (organization of an encroachment on the life of a state or public figure). The maximum sanction for this crime is the death penalty.
The attempt on Starovoitov and her assistant Ruslan Linkov was committed on November 20, 1998 at the entrance of the deputy’s house on the Griboedov channel in St. Petersburg. Starovoitov died on the spot, her assistant survived.
In the case of the murder, three people are already serving a term, among them - one of the organizers of the crime and the contractor. They received from 11 to 23.5 years in prison. The customer of the murder has not yet been found.
In August 2013, the investigation in the case was resumed.
