
The founder of the social network "VKontakte" Pavel Durov received citizenship of the state of St. Kits and Nevis, located in the Caribbean, Izvestia reports. According to the publication, Durov donated 250 thousand dollars to one of the enterprises of this country, which automatically gave him the right to receive citizenship.
According to the Izvestia source close to the VKontakte shareholders, Durov transferred the necessary amount to the Saint-Chits and Nevis sugar and Nevis in February. According to other sources, he issued the citizenship of this country a year ago, and now his brother Nikolai, the former technical director of the social network, is being the same procedure. Since the application for citizenship is considered from three to six months, it is likely that Pavel Durov submitted it last year.
Last week, the former VKontakte general director on his Facebook page conducted a survey which country to choose as a new place of residence.
Durov left Russia after he was dismissed from his position. He himself announced the dismissal in social networks on April 1, but later stated that it was a joke. Nevertheless, the company's management did not take into account the review of the care of care. According to Durov, he learned about his dismissal from the media.
