According to Izvestia , Durov donated 250 thousand dollars in one of the enterprises of the island of St. Kits and Nevis, after which, according to the laws of the state, automatically received citizenship.

Subsequently, Durov said on his Facebook page that he and a team of 12 engineers are located at a temporary headquarters in one of the countries of Central Europe and are now in search of a permanent place of work: “We are choosing a new house, a new country that will allow us to develop our projects and in which the right to private life and freedom of speech will be observed.”

At the same time, Durov even organized a survey on his page, inviting users to name the country that he should choose for further life and work. “To give you an idea of ​​our preferences, I can say that we do not love the bureaucracy, police state, war, socialism and excessive regulation,” Durov wrote.

As a source close to VKontakte told Izvestia, in addition to the second citizenship of St. Kits and Nevis, Durov has a resident UAE visa, and immediately after his departure from Russia, he went to the Emirates. Such a visa allows you to live in the UAE up to three years, and then can be extended.

According to the source, after leaving Russia, Durov settled at The Palace the Old Town hotel located in Dubai.
