Today, April 30, President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the government supported the proposal of the Ministry of Culture on the creation of the Carousel channel for the children's television channel, which will be shown only by domestic cartoons.

“Let's discuss it. I am sure that both the government and the administration will support you, ”Putin said, commenting on the speech of the Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky, ITAR-TASS reports.

“In many countries of the world, certain preferences are provided to its manufacturers of such products,” Putin said.

Medinsky said that in Russia work is underway on the development of film studios. In particular, Lenfilm received and is already mastering the loan, the concept of the revival of the Gorky studio was supported and the revival of Soyuzmultfilm began.

Medinsky also said that for Soyuzmultfilm, a room was found where he would move next year. He added that two projects of full -length cartoons, which are expected in 2015, have already been launched at the studio.

At the same time, the Minister of Culture drew attention to the problem of accessing the Russian animation to television channels - now ten foreign multi -martens are being broadcast in the Russian Federation and five more applications have been submitted, and the Russian channel is only one - “carousel” . “And then it is not only domestic animation, but there is also foreign. It seems to us that it would be very correct that the “carousel”, being included in the first digital package, becomes a channel of exclusively domestic animation, ”Medinsky suggested.

He believes that this television channel can be given to the entire collection of Soyuzmultfilm, and even proposed to rename it into Soyuzmultfilm. “I am conducting appropriate negotiations with the TV channel and you need your political decision here,” Medinsky said, addressing the president.
