As Izvestia told several sources close to VKontakte, 8–9 people left the company. They are going to participate in the creation of a new social network Durov, which should earn in the fall of this year.
According to one of the sources, now about 10 people are left in the company, among them several key figures for VKontakte. They are also unhappy with the new leadership of VKontakte and, perhaps, follow their colleagues, which will lead to unstable work of the social network.
The powers of the general director of VKontakte Pavel Durov were terminated on April 21. As an official reason, it was called that Durov did not withdraw his statement about the dismissal, which he himself announced to the Pervorelsky joke. Durov believes that he was fired due to public refusal to close the anti-corruption group of Alexei Navalny, as well as the refusal to fulfill the FSB requirement to reveal the data of the creators of the Euromaidan groups.
Soon, Durov announced that he had left Russia and would develop a new social network abroad.
PS Press Secretary of VKontakte Georgy Lobushkin denied reports of the departure of social networks. He called these messages speculations and said that "the team remains and maintains combat optimism."
