Turner prize finalists

Today, May 7, a short list of Turner Prize was announced, which is annually awarded for the best exhibition of the year to British artists under the age of 50.

The list includes four artists, reports The Guardian .

The youngest finalist of the Turner Prize of 2014-30-year-old James Richards-is nominated for work that participated in the 55th Venetian Biennale of Modern Art. In particular, the film “Rosebud” was presented there, for which Richards shot censored books in one of Tokyo's libraries.

Tris Vonna-Michell (31 years old) is known for his semi-improvisational presentations using a slide show, Chiara Phillips (37 years old) loves to turn his exhibitions into workshops, in which the artist invites public activists.

Director Dankan Campbell is nominated for the Turner Prize for the IT for Others , in which the archival chronicle is combined with modern video materials - including documentation of the choreographer of Michael Clark.

The holder of the Turner Prize will be announced on December 1 at Tate Britain in London, an exhibition of nominees will also be held there. The monetary part of the main prize is 25 thousand pounds, the finalists receive five thousand each.

Last year, the prize was received by ENT PRUVOST for the installation of Farfromwords and the performance “Wantee” dedicated to the German artist Kurt Shviters.
