40 years ago, on May 7, 1974, in Moscow, linguist Tatyana Khodorovich, mathematician Tatyana Velikanova and biologist Sergei Kovalev, members of the initiative group for the protection of human rights in the USSR, held a press conference at which they were now responsible for the distribution of "chronic events of current events."
The press statement said: “Not counting, contrary to the repeated statements of the KGB and the courts of the USSR, the“ chronicle of current events ”by illegal or slanderous publication, we considered our duty to contribute to its wider distribution as possible. We are convinced that truthful information about violations of the basic human rights in the Soviet Union is available to everyone who is interested in it.”
Three new issues of the "Chronicles", the 28th, 29th and 30th, were transferred to foreign correspondents. The publication "Chronicle" was resumed after an almost one and a half hour break.
