Ukraine began to build a dam on the North Crimean Canal

In the Kherson region of Ukraine, the construction of a dam on the North Crimean Canal began to limit the flow of water to the Crimea, Kryminform reports with reference to an eyewitness.

According to the agency, a dam from sandbags is being built about 40 kilometers from the border with the Crimea, near the bridge in the area of ​​the village of Kalanchak in order to completely block the flow of water on the peninsula along the North Crimean Canal.

“With the help of cranes and other special equipment, there is a damage to the Dam in the channel right from the bridge,” said an eyewitness to construction.

Earlier, the Crimean authorities spoke about the overlap of the channel, which is why, according to them, the rice harvest has already died . Ukrainian officials announced an unauthorized fence of water by Crimea from the North Crimean Canal without appropriate agreements. The contract for the supply of water is still not recorded. The Crimean authorities are drilling artisan wells and build a new reservoir. According to the head of the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources Sergey Donskoy, Kyiv ignores any draft water supply agreement. The State Agency of the Water Resources of Ukraine states that the Office of the North Crimean Canal did not receive specific offers. In addition, Ukuraina authorities recall the duty of Crimea for water in 2013, equal to 1.7 million hryvnias.
