
In Moscow, in 83 years of life, an outstanding composer, People's Artist of the RSFSR Alexander Flyarkovsky died. This was reported in the Union of Composers of Russia.
Flyarkovsky is the author of more than 300 songs. Among the most famous of them - "When we leave the school court", "Starfish", "Ship". The composer wrote music to more than 60 films ("Once again about love", "Rice"), cartoons ("Mouse Song", "New Year's Adventure"), documentaries. Flyarkovsky is the author of more than 10 oratorios, four operas for children, six symphonic poems, eight operett, three symphonies, as well as concerts for various tools and piano works.
In 1970-1980, Flyarkovsky worked as Deputy Minister of Culture of the RSFSR. From 1980 to 1990 - Secretary of the Board of the IC of the USSR. At this time, he also held the post of deputy chairman of the Soviet Committee for the Protection of Peace. In 1990, he was elected academician of the Russian Academy of Cinematographic Arts "Nick".
Since 1992, Flyarkovsky has been a professor at the Department of Musicology at the State Musical and Pedagogical Institute named after Ippolitov-Ivanov.
