The former head of the Guemi -General Denis Denis Sugrobov was detained

The investigation is asked by the Basmanny Court of Moscow to detain the former head of the Main Directorate of Economic Security and Corruption of Corruption (GUEBIPK) of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Lieutenant General Denis Svugrobov, RIA Novosti reports. According to a source familiar with the situation, the reason for the detention of Svugrobov was a failure to appear for interrogation as a witness in the case of the organization of a criminal group and a provocation of a bribe.

Svugrobov was detained on Wednesday evening on fishing in Volgograd and delivered to Moscow, Izvestia reports . According to his colleagues, he warned the investigation that he was going there and would come for interrogation after the May holidays. The Investigative Committee said that Svugrobov sent a telegram about a trip to Arkhangelsk. The decision to detain the general was made when it turned out that he was in Volgograd.

Around the activities of the anti-corruption headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, at the beginning of the year, a scandal erupted due to the criminal case, on which leading employees of the department are taking place. The investigators and unidentified leaders of the headquarters tried to substitute one of the FSB officers. In particular, they planned to introduce themselves to him by businessmen and offer to take them “under the roof” for 10 thousand dollars a month.

On February 21, by decree of President , Sugrobov was relieved of his post . On February 25, his deputy major general of the police Boris Kolesnikov was detained after interrogation in the TFR .

On March 5, Kolesnikov and the head of the Department of the BUEBIPK Salavat Mullyarov was charged under part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code (abuse of authority). Earlier, the Moscow Basmanny Court authorized their arrest. According to investigators, the officers developed a senior FSB officer, while violating the articles of the Law on Operational Road Activities and a number of other legislative acts. Under house arrest, there are also two civilians, whom the operatives involved in the operation to develop an FSB officer.

On February 27, the mayor of Yaroslavl Evgeny Urlashov, the arrested and removable from office, sent a petition to the chairman of the TFR Alexander Bastrykin to the withdrawal of investigators who conduct his case. Urlashov is sure that investigators can be associated with a group of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in respect of whom a criminal case is now being investigated.
