Putin came to Sevastopol

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Sevastopol to participate in celebrations dedicated to the 69th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Interfax reports. This is the first trip of the Russian leader to Crimea, after the peninsula join the Russian Federation.

In the morning, Putin was present at the solemn parade on Red Square, after which he flew to Sevastopol, where by that time the land part of the parade dedicated to the ninth of May had already ended.

It is expected that the head of state will visit the sea and air parts of the parade, will speak to the participants of the event on the count of the pier, after which he will put flowers to the memorial to the heroes of Sevastopol, meet with veterans and visit the festive concert.

The head of the coastal troops of the Black Sea Fleet, Major General Alexander Zrratikov, is commanded by the parade in Sevastopol, and the parade-commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, Vice Admiral Alexander Vitko, accepts the parade. Festive events on the Crimean Peninsula are also held in Kerch and Simferopol.

Earlier, Putin’s intention was reported to celebrate Victory Day in Sevastopol.
