
The head of the Lugansk Regional State Administration (OGA) Mikhail Bolotsky was dismissed from his position. The first deputy chairman of the Lugansk Regional State Administration Irina Verigina was appointed temporarily acting on May 10, the decree of the interim president of Ukraine Alexander Turchinov said .
Bolotsky was appointed head of the Lugansk Regional State Administration on March 2, replacing Vladimir Prostyuk. Prior to this, Bolotsky led the State Emergency Service. For what reason he was removed from his post, is not specified.
On May 3, Turchinov also fired five heads of district state administration in the Lugansk region: Svatovskaya, Perevalskaya, Krasnodonskaya, Belokurakin and Belovodskaya.
In the Luhansk region, as well as a number of other regions in the southeast of Ukraine, pro-Russian speeches have been going on for the past few months, accompanied by armed clashes and seizures of administrative buildings. So, in Lugansk and Donetsk, "People’s Republics" were created, which intend to hold referenda on independence on May 11. In Kyiv, the legality of plebiscites is not recognized.
