According to the results of the jury and viewers voting at the Eurovision-2014 song contest in the Danish capital, transvestite Konchit Vurst (Thomas Neuvirt) from Austria with the song Rise Like a Phoenix won. She has 290 points. The leading show is a pianist and music journalist Nikolai Koppel, actor Pila Asbeck and TV presenter Lisa Rene called the name of the winner of the competition on Sunday, ITAR -TASS.

“This victory is dedicated to everyone who believes in the world and freedom. We cannot stop us,” exclaimed an excited contestant on stage, without restraining her tears.

The "bearded woman" Konchit Vurst was the favorite of the bookmakers before the competition and caused extremely contradictory responses in a number of countries, the Russian BBC service notes.

The second place in the vote went to the Netherlands group The Common Linnets, the third was occupied by the Swedish singer Sanna Nielsen.

Russian twin sisters Maria and Anastasia Tolmacheva with the songs of Philip Kirkorova and Dimitris Konotopulos to the words of John Ballard, Ralph Charlie and Gerard James Borg "Shine" took 79 points with 89 points, lagging behind one place from Ukraine.

In the history of Eurovision, transvestites were already and even won. In 1998, the main prize took Dana International from Israel - before the flooring operation, she was a man. In 2002, three transvestites, dressed in stewardesses, represented Slovenia.

Recall that the participation of the Conchits of VURST in Eurovision caused protests from groups of citizens in Russia and Belarus, which demanded to boycott the contest "as a nursery of sodomia." Activists, in particular, outraged the appearance of Conchita, combining femininity and male beard.

The Tolmachev sisters, who are the youngest participants in Eurovision, were born on January 14, 1997 in Kursk. As a child, they won the music contests "Golden Rook", "Neva Stars" and "The Constellation of the Young", and eight years ago with the song of their own composition "Spring Jazz" won the children's "Eurovision" in Bucharest. The girls recorded their first album "Halves", debuted as leading in a number of popular television programs, starred in the New Year's musical "Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors", where they sang with Alla Pugacheva.
