Governor of the Lipetsk region goes to early elections

President Vladimir Putin satisfied the request of the governor of the Lipetsk region Oleg Korolev, who expressed a desire to put up powers and go to the early elections of the new governor of the region. It is reported by RIA "Novosti". Korolev’s powers ended in 2015.

“I would ask ... about the possibility of early termination of powers in order to go to the polls, fulfilling all those decrees that you set,” Korolev said at a meeting with Putin. In turn, the president supported the initiative of the governor and noted that he was satisfied with his work.

Korolev is not the first head of the region to resign for the sake of participating in the autumn of 2014. On May 6, the president signed a decree on the early termination of powers of the head of the Republic of Kalmyki Alexei Orlov from his position. Putin appointed him the temporarily acting head of the region.

On May 5, Putin supported the request of the governor of the Murmansk region Marina Kovtun on early resignation . She asked the president for permission to go to the governor's elections. Putin wished Kovtun success and also appointed it by the acting head of the region.

On January 18, Putin appointed the current governor Alexander Berdnikov , the temporarily acting head of the Altai Republic . Berdnikov himself had previously stated that he intends to run again to the governors. In case of victory in the election, the next governor's term will be the third for him in a row.

On January 14, Putin appointed Nikita of the White Acting Governor of the Kirov region , and Vyacheslav Gaiser - the acting head of the Komi. All these appointments were made in connection with the expiration of the term of office. The heads of the regions also announced their intention to run for the next period.
