The VVC was renamed VDNH

The All -Russian Exhibition Center in Moscow was officially renamed VDNH.

This was announced today, May 15, Interfax was informed in the press service of the Department of Public Relations of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee.

“The vast majority of Muscovites voted for the return of the All -Russian exhibition center of the historical name - VDNH. Corresponding changes to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities were made on May 14, 2014, ”the press service said in a statement.

Sergey Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, proposed to the All -Russian Exhibition Center the historical name in March this year during a visit to the VVC.

“The results of the interactive survey of Muscovites, which were made on the initiative of the mayor, showed that more than 90% of the townspeople voted for the country's name to return the name of VDNH,” the press service of the Department of Public Relations of the All-Union Central Enterprise notes.

The exhibition complex on the site of the current VVC was officially opened in 1939 as the "All -Union Agricultural Exhibition" (VSHV). In 1959, the complex was reproduced and received a new name - VDNH of the USSR, and in 1992 it was renamed the VVC.
