“The vast majority of Muscovites voted for the return of the All -Russian exhibition center of the historical name - VDNH. Corresponding changes to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities were made on May 14, 2014, ”the press service said in a statement.
Sergey Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, proposed to the All -Russian Exhibition Center the historical name in March this year during a visit to the VVC.
“The results of the interactive survey of Muscovites, which were made on the initiative of the mayor, showed that more than 90% of the townspeople voted for the country's name to return the name of VDNH,” the press service of the Department of Public Relations of the All-Union Central Enterprise notes.
The exhibition complex on the site of the current VVC was officially opened in 1939 as the "All -Union Agricultural Exhibition" (VSHV). In 1959, the complex was reproduced and received a new name - VDNH of the USSR, and in 1992 it was renamed the VVC.
