Deputy Head of Roskomnadzor Maxim Ksenzov made a refutation of his statement about the intention of his department to block Twitter and Facebook.

“My words about a possible blocking are a signal to foreign Internet platforms so that they establish relations with the market regulator on which they work. -said Ksenzov ITAR-TASS . “No one is going to block either Twitter or Facebook , nor Google .”

He added that under Russian laws, Roskomnadzor is obliged to block resources that distribute extremist materials. “And this can not always be done by entering a particular page on the site in the register of prohibited information. In particular, the pages cannot be blocked in the Twitter mobile application-the entire IP address can be disabled as a result, ”explained the deputy head of Roskomnadzor.

According to him, "extreme measures are unlikely."
