
Ford announced the final tests of the compact Ecosport crossover on Russian roads. The date of the premiere of the model, the main competitors of which will be Nissan Juke and Opel Mokka, is not yet called.
Fords test pilot cars produced at the modernized Ford Sollers plant in Naberezhnye Chelny. All changes provided for by the adaptation program have already been made. The purpose of tests is to check the quality and readiness of Ecosport for operation in various road conditions, Autosalea reports.
"Before you appear at the official Ford dealers in Russia, each car will pass the strictest quality control in accordance with international Ford standards. Official Sales of Ford Ecosport in Russia will begin in the second half of 2014," the company said.
It is expected that the Ford EcoSport will be available in our market with gasoline engines of 1.6 and 2.0 liters. There will be many options: with front and all -wheel drive, "mechanics" and an automatic gearbox. Depending on the configuration, the crossover can be equipped with heating windshield, cruise control, and the Sync multimedia system in Russian.
