
The associates of the self -proclaimed "people's governor" of Lugansk Valery Bolotov repelled him from the Ukrainian border guards. This was reported on the website of the "United Army of the Southeast". Bolotov was released by a group of armed people with a number of about 100 people. As Interfax clarifies, during a collision with border guards, they used manual grenades and grenade launchers. At the same time, there are no injured border services among employees. The People’s Governor was detained at about 6 in the morning on May 17 at the Dovzhansky checkpoint when he entered the territory of Ukraine from Russia.
“The Ukrainian border guards detained him at 5:45, informed all the law enforcement agencies about this, including representatives of the anti -terrorist operation and waited for the help of security forces for about two hours, but no one came,” the representative of the border service said.
Bolotov left the territory of Ukraine on May 14. The border guards explained that they released him, since no special instructions were received in relation to Bolotov. Later, temporary President of Ukraine, Alexander Turchinov, ordered a check why Bolotov managed to freely leave the country. On May 13, an attempt was made to Bolotov, the details of which were not reported. The "People's Governor" was hospitalized in a private clinic with a wound in the shoulder.
