Dugino's manor faces destruction

The descendants of I.E. Grabar and Meshcheryns made an appeal to the public, in which they call to save the Dugino estate near Moscow, who belonged to the artist N.V. Meshcheryin.

The circulation reports that on May 3 it became known about the intentional arson of the main house of the estate. After the fire, the first two historical floors of the house, as well as the park’s alley and the famous “circle”, from which a picturesque view of the surroundings opens.

“According to unverified data, the plot on which the house stands, the Istline company has become interested in and for the past three years, systematic destruction of the building has been conducted,” the appeal said. Nevertheless, the authors consider it, the estate "is subject to restoration and preservation."

At the beginning of the 20th century, many Moscow artists visited and worked at the Dugino estate, including Levitan, Vasnetsov, Borisov-Musatov, Serov, Korin.

“A friend, and then a relative of Meshcheryina, was also an artist, art critic, restorer and defender of cultural and architectural monuments I.E. Grabar. For 13 years, he lived in Dugin and here he wrote the most famous paintings: “February azure”, “March snow”, “dying day. Manor”, ​​“Spring stream”, “Chrysanthemums” and others. Here he worked on multi -volume labor "History of Russian Art", ”the appeal says.

The descendants of I.E. The grabs and owners of the Meshcherin estate are called upon to prevent the destruction of the house "and the place itself, which are an important part of our cultural heritage and Russian art." “We would like to raise the question of restoring the house, giving it the status of a cultural monument and create a museum in it. We turn to everyone who is not indifferent to Russian history and its monuments, ”the authors of the appeal write.

According to the site of the Domodedovo historical and local history group "Istok" named after N. Chulkova, Vyopiik, applied for the production of the house for state protection and conducting an examination, in order to recognize the main house of the Dugino estate as a monument of history and culture.
