"Talmud's Economics"

The Yegor Gaidar Foundation, together with the Russian Economic School and the Dynasty Foundation, begins a new cycle of three public lectures on economics, united by the general name “Homo Religiosus”. In this cycle, leading economists will talk about how traditional religions - Orthodoxy, Islam and Judaism - look at the economic activity of man, and how this affects life in the modern world. Famous speakers from Russia, Israel and Great Britain will perform lectures.

The first lecture “Talmud Economics” will be made by the 2005 Nobel Prize for the economy of 2005, an honorary professor of Jewish University at Jerusalem (Israel) Israel Robert John Aumann. Professor Aumann - mathematician, Nobel Prize in Economics was awarded to him for an outstanding contribution to understanding and analysis of the theory of conflict and cooperation, developed on the basis of the theory of games. His research helped expand the scope of the theory of games not only in the economy, but also in political science, biology, philosophy and other sciences. In his lecture, he will talk about the views of Judaism on the development of markets and stimulating the economy, which remain relevant for millennia.
