The Central Bank of the Russian Federation may sanitize Mosoblbank, the corresponding decision was made at the end of last week. The newspapers "Vedomosti" and "Kommersant" write about possible reorganization.
With reference to sources in the banking sector, the newspaper reports that the main contender for participation in rehabilitation will be the SMP Bank, controlled by Boris and Arkady Rotenbergs and fell under US sanctions. According to Vedomosti , there are no final agreements between the deposit insurance agency and the SMP yet: the latter “finds out what the bank has problems”.
The sanitation of Mosoblbank can become one of the largest in the banking history of Russia: the DIA can allocate 117 billion rubles for the project, Kommersant found out. More money was spent only on saving the Bank of Moscow in the summer of 2011 - 295 billion rubles (sanitized VTB). According to the sources of the publication, two other companies of its owners Andrzei and Alexander the Balchevsky - Inrebank and Finance Business Bank will also get into the Mosoblbank reorganization project.
There are several reasons for the sanitation of Mosoblbank, but the main thing is the doubtful operations of the company with the population deposits, newspapers say. On May 7, Vedomosti reported that the Central Bank discovered 60 billion rubles from Mosoblbank , which the organization accepted as deposits of individuals, and then led out of balance so as not to show in the reporting. At the same time, it was reflected in the balance sheet reports less: 20 billion rubles. The Chairman of the Board of Mosoblbank Viktor Yanin called the publication a “tool of unfair competition”, and on May 15 the company filed a lawsuit against the newspaper about protecting business reputation.
