The State Duma adopted a bill in the first reading, equating the symbols of the organization of Ukrainian nationalists (Bandera) to the Nazi. It is reported by RIA "Novosti".

The documentwas introduced in mid-March, Sergei Zheleznyak , the vice speaker of the State Duma and deputy secretary of the General Council of United Russia. The bill provides for amendments to Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (propaganda and public demonstration of Nazi or extremist symbolism and paraphernalia).

"I support the requirement of my compatriots on equating Bandera paraphernalia and symbols to the Nazi, with the corresponding prosecution of those responsible for responsibility in accordance with the requirements of the law," Zheleznyak wrote on Facebook then. He expressed confidence that many colleagues in the State Duma would approve his initiative.

Part 1 Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses implies a fine of 1000-2000 rubles or arrest up to 15 days for citizens, for officials - a fine of 1000 to 4000 rubles, for legal entities - from 10 thousand to 50 thousand rubles. In all cases, the confiscation of the "subject of administrative violation" is also provided.

For part 2 of the same article (manufacturing, sales or acquisition for the sale of such paraphernalia or symbols), sanctions are stricter: for citizens - a fine of 1000 to 2500 rubles, for officials - from 2000 to 5000 rubles, for legal entities - from 20 thousand to 100 thousand rubles; In all cases, also with the confiscation of the "violation subject".

As you know, in the Second World War, the Ukrainian rebel army - the combat wing of the Bandera organization, fought against the German army, although the private agreements of individual commanders with the Germans could take place. Stepan Bandera himself from July 1941 to September 1944 was imprisoned in the concentration camp of Zaksenhausen.
