Orthodox activists in the Russian Federation considered betrayal the appeal of a number of representatives of the UOC MP to residents of Eastern Ukraine

As already reported, a group of priests and laity people of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate sent an appeal to the inhabitants of the East of Ukraine, in which they urged them to achieve political goals peacefully.

Later on Tuesday, the Interfax-religion portal distributed an updated version of this information, which noted that the authors of the letter accuse the inhabitants of the eastern part of the country of anti-Christian behavior and defend the schismatics. This caused a sharp reaction from the Orthodox activists in Russia.

This is especially true for that part of the appeal, which states that the authors of the letter with regret learned "about psychological terror, threats up to the threats of the deprivation of life of Christians of various faiths, in particular to the clergy of the Kyiv Patriarchate and other faiths."

"As Christians and believers of the UOC, we note that such behavior is anti -Christian and anti -human and will inevitably bring the righteous anger of God to criminals," the document from which Interfax -religion cites.

The appeal was signed by more than 30 people, including the press secretary of the "Right Sector" Artem Skoropadsky. The authors called on the warring parties "to calm emotions, go to the dialogue, letting go of everyone who was captured without weapons."

It should be noted that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate is not recognized in the Orthodox world, and its followers are considered schismatics who violated the unity of Ukrainian Orthodoxy.

Following the updated version of the news, the Interfax-religion portal distributed an angry appeal of members of the Russian Association of Orthodox experts, who called the priests and laity of the UOC-MP, "who wrote the appeal in defense of the schismatics, traitors of Orthodoxy."

“We evaluate their actions as the betrayal of Holy Orthodoxy. One of the authors, Artem Skoropadsky, we have known for a long time, this is Judas, he betrayed his parish, his church, his country and ended up in the ranks of the neo -Nazis of the“ Right Sector, ”the Association said, transferred by the Interfax -religion portal.

Orthodox experts called on believers of the UOC -MP "not to make excuses and not renounce the civilizational choice of their ancestors." “The last thing will be to renounce the Russian world, because Novorossiya rebelled for the Russian world, and the junta is its enemies,” the statement said.

Experts also turned to Patriarch Cyril with a request to celebrate the church and state awards of the “warriors of St. Rus', such as Igor Strelkov and other leaders of the national liberation movement of the Orthodox Russian people in Novorossiya”.

The confessor of the Russian monarchical movement "For faith and the Fatherland" Hieromonk Nikon (Belarusian) also condemned the letters to the inhabitants of Eastern Ukraine. He accused the authors of political engagement.

“This statement is political in nature, because there, on the one hand, a call to all parties is declared to calm emotions, a call to dialogue, but at the same time only residents of the southeast are condemned, who, as citizens of Ukraine, defend their rights to their own language,” said Hieromonk Nikon Portax-religion.

The priest drew attention to the fact that in the statement, on the one hand, “concern is expressed by some hypothetical threats to the clergy of the“ Kyiv Patriarchate ”, but there is not a word of condemnation of the real murder of the priest of the Ukrainian Church of the Moscow Patriarchate in the southeast, it is said about some armed people, but the document itself was signed by the press secretary of the“ right sectors, "whose members are pacing with weapons and committing direct violence against their political opponents."

According to Hieromonk Nikon, the rights of all religious communities should be observed in any country, and "representatives of the so -called Kyiv Patriarchate have the right to expression of their religious views and committing their rites."

“But such an application of the statement is actually an element of the information war on one side. There is a feeling that the signatories are much more concerned about the problems of the“ Kyiv Patriarchate ”than the problems of their brothers and co -religionists from the canonical Ukrainian Church,” the priest said.
