“Channel One” creates a separate directorate, which should strengthen its presence on the Internet and new media. The former editor -in -chief of the RIA Novosti Ilya Bulavinov site will be headed.
This was reported by RBC with reference to the head of the press service of the Canal Larisa Krymova. Ilya Bulavinov himself confirmed his appointment: “For me personally, this is a serious challenge. I have never worked on television, for 20 years in Kommersant was primarily engaged in information, the RIA.RU website, which I headed for the last year, is also primarily a news resource. Therefore, the proposal of Konstantin Lvovich Ernst to go into a new sphere for me was completely unexpected. Such a chance, perhaps, falls out once in life and not everyone. ”
According to Bulavinov, global tasks related to both the development of the 1tv.ru website and the introduction of new forms of interaction with the audience are set.
Now television channels are experiencing a strong influence of Internet resources on their audience, the Channel One pointed out in their financial statements for 2013. As a source of information, entertainment and professional content, the Internet has become a "main competitor for television, especially for the young generation of viewers."
The largest Russian Internet company “Yandex” for advertising revenue is already ahead of “Channel One”: the search engine in 2013 earned 38.8 billion rubles in advertising, the channel was 29.6 billion rubles.
In April 2014, the Channel One website was the most visited among television channels. According to TNS Web Index , an average of 334.9 thousand users visited the 1tv.ru resource daily. On average, the daily coverage of the television channel itself for this period totaled 22.8 million people.
