The SBU deleted a computer virus from the CEC server, which was supposed to destroy the results of the presidential elections scheduled for May 25. As reports "Ligabsnesinform", this was stated by the head of the special services Valentin Nalyvaichenko. The infected program, according to the head of the SBU, was illegally proposed by the Central Election Commission to the previous government leadership.

On Thursday, the virus was eliminated, added Nalivaichenko, and the software was replaced. “Today we were convinced that the CEC server would be protected,” the SBU head concluded.

The head of the State Service for Special Communications and Protection of Information of Ukraine Volodymyr Zverev confirmed the information about the virus. The official said that the infected program launched a person who had passwords of access to the system, since these passwords were correctly entered the first time. Initialization of the virus, added Zverev, occurred on the computer of the CEC system administrator. “It was a prepared and planned action,” said the head of the State Pedagogical University.

Zverev also promised that after the incident the incident, his department would strengthen information, so that this would no longer happen again.
