Human rights activists from the consolidated mobile group, representing the interests of the defendant, intend to appeal this decision, because they are sure that Edigov was forced to stipulate himself under torture.
During the process , Edigov held a hunger strike in protest against the bias of the judge .
According to the official documents of Edigov, they detained on September 12, 2012. However, in reality, he was abducted by the Chechen police on August 3 of that year in Urus-Martan. As Edigov’s relatives established in his abduction were participated in the police department of the Kurchaloevsky, Achokhoy-Martan and Urus-Martan districts, as well as police officers of the 2nd battalion of the Republican Patrol Service named after Akhmat Kadyrov.
Initially, the abducted was taken to the village of Centor, and then sent to the OP "Kurchaloevsky". Oedigov was subjected to long -term torture with electric shock and beatings. Only after that the detention of Edigov was formally formalized.
The first process was led by the judge of the Supreme Court of Chechnya Vakhid Abubakarov.
