At the discussion of the consequences of the indictment in the Moscow City Court in the Mosgorsud, the murder of journalist Anna Politkovsky prosecutor Boris Loktionov, for two defendants - Rustam Makhmudov and Lom -Ali Gaitukaev - lifelong terms in a special regime colony. On May 20, the jury recognized Makhmudov as the immediate executor of the murder, and his uncle Gaitukaev was one of the organizers of the crime. Both defendants were also considered guilty of the illegal turnover of weapons, and Makhmudov, in addition, in the abduction of Armenia citizen, Ovanesa Abelian in 1996. The condescension of Makhmudov and Gaitukaev do not deserve, the jury said.

For another person involved, also recognized by the organizer of the crime, - ex -employee of the UBOP Sergey Khadzhikurbanov - Loktionov demanded 22 years of strict regime, and for the brothers Makhmudov Dzhabrail and Ibrahim, considered by the accomplices of the killer, 19 and 15 years of strict regime, respectively. Jabrail Makhmudov, the jury was also found guilty of the illegal turnover of weapons. He, like Khadzhikurbanova, was also considered not deserved indulgence. At the same time, Ibrahim Mahmudov, in their opinion, deserves condescension.

According to RAPSI, Loktionov also asked to satisfy a civil lawsuit for 5 million rubles, filed to the defendant victims by the children of the journalist Vera and Ilya Politkovsky.

Meanwhile, the lawyer of the victims Anna Stavitskaya asked to show condescension to Jabrail and Ibrahim Makhmudov, and also take into account their small role in the crime. For Dzhabrail Makhmudova, Stavitskaya requested eight and a half years, for Ibrahim Makhmudova - eight.

The lawyer of the defendants Murad Musaev insisted on justifying his customers. Earlier, Musaev has repeatedly stated that the case was fabricated, and pointed out numerous violations during the process.

The verdict will be announced on June 9. The beginning of the meeting at 11:00.

The court in the case of the murder of Politkovskaya began in July 2013, after the jury was formed on the third attempt. In November, the collegium was dismissed, and in January 2014, after the selection of a new jury, the hearing began again. However, before the end of the month, five assessors drew from the college.

This is the second consideration of the case of the murder of a journalist. The first process, held in the Moscow District Military Court, ended with the acquittal of jury, but the Supreme Court canceled this decision.

Another defendant in the case - the former head of the department of the operational -search department of the Moscow Central Internal Affairs Directorate Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov - earlier made a deal with the investigation, testified against other accused and was convicted by the Moscow City Court to the 11 years of the colony.
