The Federal Penitentiary Service suspected oppositionist Alexei Navalny that, despite the ban on the court, he could use the Internet. This was reported to the Prosecutor General’s Office and investigators by the head of the FSIN department Elena Zarebinskaya. She added that this is a common practice: if the FSIN has information about a violation of the conditions of preventive measure, the agency informs the investigator. Further work is carried out by special units. In April, the municipal deputy Alexei Lisovenko filed a lawsuit to Navalny, demanding to refute the message on Twitter Navalny, where Lisovienko was called a drug addict. The deputy, in addition, argued that Navalny violated the conditions of house arrest, which was supposed to lead to a punishment in the form of compulsory work. Navalny in court claimed that access to his Twitter account has an unlimited number of users. “There is no evidence that I made this entry,” the politician said. However, the justice of the peace considered it differently and sentenced him to a fine of 300 thousand rubles. Navalny's lawyers appealed this decision.
Editor comment: Alexey Navalny has been under house arrest from February 28, 2014. The opposition and his brother Oleg are suspected of theft of Yves Rocher East. Investigators believe that in 2008, the Navalny forced Yves Rocher to conclude an agreement with their transport company “Main Subscribe Agency” bypassing a direct counterparty. The delivery continued to carry out the “Russian Post”, where Oleg Navalny held a leading position. Alexei Navalny insists that the case was fabricated and there was no damage to “Yves Rocher East”. At the same time, Alexei Navalny already has a suspended term in the “ Cirules case ”.
